Surrender

by Sr. Marie De Montfort

A lonely figure
On the hillside
Watching and waiting,
In quietness and peace
And chill expectancy,
As dawn breaks
And dewdrops glisten
In the waking sun.
Then suddenly while morning
Paints its myriad colours
In the sky.
The world lights up
The master comes –
The lonely figure is alone no more
But two are one
Eternally united.
