spiritual directors

Sr. Alice Brennan
My training is in the Ignatian tradition and is based on the Exercises of St. Ignatius. I am convinced about the fact that spiritual direction is “help given from one Christian to another which enables that person to pay attention to God’s personal communication to him or her, to grow in intimacy with this God and to live out the consequences of this relationship” (The Practice of Spiritual Direction) As a spiritual director, I will be a companion as you journey inwards and outwards.

Sr. Susan Armond
Sr. Susan is associated with Ty Croeso centre by offering spiritual direction, prayer days and short retreats. Sr. is originally from Hertfordshire and trained as a nurse and mid-wife before entering the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1974. For 24 years she worked in St. Joseph’s Hospital (when it was owned by the Sisters) both on the wards and as Operating Theatre Manager and latterly has cared for the older/infirm sisters at Llantarnam Abbey until 2012. For 11 years she was a member of the Province Administration Team. Recently she has been engaged as Province Safeguarding Co-ordinator as well as continuing some nursing support activities. Sister Susan undertook the Ecumenical Course in Spiritual Direction in London 1993 – 1995 and continues to update her knowledge and skills. She has recently undertaken the Vocations Guides’ course organized by the National Office for Vocation.
