Event: Directed Retreat: 8 days with David McLoughlin
David has been teaching theology for many years to very diverse groups at Newman University in Birmingham. He regularly opens up the Scriptures to a variety of religious and secular groups. He enables his listeners to read familiar texts, i.e. the Hebrew Scriptures, the Prophets, and the Gospel parables and practice of Jesus, against the often forgotten and unfamiliar social and political settings from which they originally emerged. He does this, not as an historical or archaeological exercise, but to provoke us to think through our own responses, in our own time, in the light of the scriptural texts.
Those who wish to make 8-days continue till Monday 10th June.
